What's the deal with Hyaluronic Acid?

Did you know that hyaluronic acid is such a powerful moisture-binding ingredient that it can attract and hold 1000x its weight in water?

The problem is as we age, our body slows down and this includes our bodies capability to naturally produce hyaluronic acid. This means we need to top up our hyaluronic acid. It seems a lot of skincare companies have woken up and begun to include hyaluronic acid in their products. I always suggest you look out for this ingredient in your products but try to ensure hyaluronic acid is in whatever eye cream or under eye serum you buy as the skin around the eyes is very sensitive, thin and more prone to drying out. This leads to the unfortunate damaged and dark under eye circles the majority of us suffer. The name, hyaluronic acid, can sound quite serious but don't let the name deter you, it is safe and a ingredient you need in your skincare.

What will hyaluronic acid do for me?

  1. It helps our skin to maintain its elasticity which is a win we need in our older age.

  2. Hyaluronic acid has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

  3. As we age our collagen production slows down which is why we have wrinkles and less plump skin, but hyaluronic acid actually helps to improve our production of collagen.

  4. It also fights free radicals which try to damage and age our skin.

  5. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant (reduces the loss of moisture) keeping our skin looking young, refreshed and plump.

  6. It works for any skin type.
